Decoupling board.

 

The decoupling board (DB) serves to distribute High Voltage, to divide high and low voltage part of the electronics of the detector, to distribute calibration signals to each channel. Normally the module is placed between feed-though of detector and analogue board.

For each 32 channels one DB module is used. Inside of Module each wire to high voltage supply through several resistor 10 MOhm is connected. The circuit of module is very simple and has calibration capacitors, decoupling capacitors and the circuit to test odd or even channels.

The DB has input high density connectors JP3 (68 pins connector with 34 twisted pair flat cables, with 0.635 mm pitch)(table 2), output connector 64 pins DIN type U1 (table 3) and the connector with power and calibration signals U3 (table 1) (fig.1).

The module is 4U height unit. The DB module consists from three boards: main, high voltage and connection boards. The dimensions of the boards are 70x144.5x1.6 , 95x71x1.6 and 68x20x1.0. The module DB from EMI by screening box is shielded .

The connector U3 has:

 

1. Low voltage +5 Volt and -5 Volt.

2. Analogue Ground.

  1. Enable of the calibration signal for even channels.

4. Enable of the calibration signal for odd channels.

5. Test pulse - differential analogue signal.

  1. High Voltage.

7. Common test signal to test connections of the wires from feed-though

to front-end electronics.

T-PULSE(+/-) - Calibration Test Pulse

 

ENABLE_ODD Enable of the test Pulse for odd channels.

0 - calibration of odd channel disable

1 - calibration of odd channel enable

 

ENABLE_EVEN Enable of the test Pulse for even channels.

 

0 - calibration of even channel disable

1 - calibration of even channel enable .

 

Comm-pulse

0 - Common Pulse of the test connection of wires disable

1 - Common Pulse of the test connection of wires enable

 

AGND - Analogue Ground of linear power supply
