In cases where the current legislation provides for the obligation of health surveillance this is carried out by the competent doctor and provides:
· Preventive assessments to ascertain the absence of contraindications to the work to which the workers are destined, for the purpose of assessing their suitability for the specific task;
· Periodic checks to check the health status of workers and express the opinion of suitability for the specific task.
Furthermore the D.L. 230/1995 concerning ionizing radiation provides that medical surveillance of exposed workers classified as category A is ensured through authorized doctors. The attributions of the competent Doctor are established by the Legislative Decree. 81/08.
